Czech basketball player will sign a three-year contract with the Washington Wizards
One of the most talented European players, Czech Tomas Satoransky this summer goes to the NBA, in the team of Washington Wizards. Former point guard of Barcelona was drafted in 2012, and the Wizards chose him from the 32nd position. Media in Spain write that Satoransky will sign a three-year contract worth 9 million dollars, and Barcelona will get 2 million for buyout.
Satoransky is 25 years old and will become the second Czech to wear jersey of the Washington Wizards. Before him, for the Wizards has played Jan Vesely, which did not fulfill an expectations. However, unlike the then 21-year-old Vesely, who was still undefined player, his compatriot is completely come of age during the previous seasons.
The new guard of Wizards as a very young player arrived in the Spanish ACB league, probably most quality in Europe, where during five seasons wore a jersey of Sevilla. During this period he had the opportunity to work with one of the most respected basketball experts Aito Reneses, who is known for his work with young talents. Ricky Rubio, Rudy Fernandez and the new rising star in the NBA, Kristaps Porzingis are just some of the players on whose development was credited the legendary coach Aito.
During two seasons spent with Barcelona, Satoransky experienced a complete affirmation. The fact that from the position of the starting point guard displaced Marcelinho Huertas speaks enough about the qualities of the young Czech. During the recently completed season received complete freedom in creation and became the leader of the team. The greatest benefits that Satoransky possesses are speed and explosiveness, athleticism, great game in defense and court vision and with a height of 198 cm can see over the defense, which makes work easier in the organization of the offense.
A potential trouble for Satoransky in his rookie season may be the fact that the Wizards are filled on the guard positions. Except from point guard John Wall, the first star of the team, there are also Trey Burke, Ramon Sessions and Bradley Beal. Having in mind that salary cap in the coming years will increase dramatically, it can be said that Satoransky got a modest contract for the NBA standards. However, more important is the opportunity to play with the best in the world, which is priceless. One of the best guards in Europe undoubtedly expected a big fight for minutes, and Tomas Satoransky is obviously ready for such a risk.
