Sports News Review – Visitors dominating in Davis Cup

Sports news review stars with Davis Cup, where visitors were dominant in the quarterfinals. France finally broke the curse and defeated Czech Republic in away match. It didn’t start well for them when Tsonga was defeated by Rosol and everybody thought the same old story would play out again, but Pouille and the French double team managed to turn around the score and Tsonga erased his mistake from day one today, when he defeated Vesely by 3:1. The match between Rosol and Pouille wasn’t played.

The match between USA and Croatia will be finished later in the evening, after two days USA leads by 2:1.

In ATP Hamburg final Klizan defeated Cuevas by 2:0.

In WTA Bucharest final Halep humiliated Sevastova and defeated her by 6:0, 6:0 for less than an hour!

In WTA Gstaad final Golubic defeated Bertens by 2:1.

In European under 19 football championship two matches were played today. Germany defeated Austria by 3:0, while Italy and Portugal played 1:1.

Football transfer stories from today include the same old rumor that Paul Pogba could transfer to Manchester United, but there’s a new story as well – Nemanja Matic has been linked to Juventus. The transfer of N’Golo Kante to Chelsea could cause a tectonic rift in the summer transfer window, so several defensive midfielders might swap clubs. Marko Pjaca transferred from Dinamo Zagreb to Juventus for the fee of 25 million euros!

Demba Ba suffered a possibly career-ending injury in a Chinese league match, when the opponent broke his leg with a terrible challenge.

Arjen Robben will again miss the start of the season due to injury. He should be back in six weeks.

Italy defeated Belgium by 89:64, Turkey defeated Germany by 67:63, Israel defeated France by 86:66, Ukraine defeated Serbia by 90:69, Czech Republic defeated Sweden by 67:61, Finland defeated Spain by 91:90 after extra time, Latvia defeated Slovenia by 78:71 and Lithuania defeated Hungary by 128:69.
