Saul Niguez has extended his contract with Atletico Madrid and will remain at the club until 2021. The talented Spaniard made his debut for the Los Colchoneros in 2012, and this season he is one of the more important players in Diego Simeone’s team. Niguez was the desire of many teams, including Manchester United. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Martin Demichelis was fined by the English Football Association for betting on sport games. Manchester City’s player was fined 22,058 pounds and warned that such moves will not be tolerated in the future. Demichelis admitted he bet on 29 matches in the period from January 22 to February 19, but that he was not familiar with the FA rules regarding betting.

Washington Nationals were very convincing against New York Mets, 7-1. Houston Astros with the score 5-3 beat Chicago White Sox. The second franchise from the Windy City, Chicago Cubs were better than Milwaukee Brewers, but only after extra inning, 2-1. Boston Red Sox celebrated against the reigning champions Kansas City Royals, as the final score was 5-2. St. Louis Cardinals beat Colorado Rockies with 2-0. New York Yankees were better than Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-2, while the duel of two franchises from the City of Angels Los Angeles Angels demolished Los Angeles Dodgers with 8-1. San Francisco Giants were better than San Diego Padres, 2-1.
