Sports News Review – Chelsea and Manchester United march on in Premier League

Led by new coaches Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho, Chelsea and Manchester United march on at the start of English Premier League from which we’ll start tonight’s sports news review. The Blues notched their third win in three opening rounds after they beat Burnley 3-0 in convincing fashion today while United beat Hull City 1-0 away to stay perfect at the start of the season after Marcus Rashford scored the winner in injury time. Eden Hazard plays superbly at the start of the season as he scored his second goal this term in ninth minute. Willian and Victor Moses confirmed Chelsea’s win with their scores. Reigning champions Leicester City grabbed their first win in this campaign after beating Swansea 2-1 at home while Arsenal did the same with a 3-1 road win at Watford. In the match of the round Tottenham and Liverpool drew 1-1 at White Hart Lane. In other matches today Crystal Palace and Bournemouth ended 1-1, same as Southampton and Sunderland while Everton beat Stoke City 1-0.

Borussia Dortmund opened their 2016-2017 Bundesliga season with a 2-1 victory over Mainz at Signal-Iduna Park. Dortmund put together very strong side this summer and started their title hunt on the right foot. Attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continued where he left of last season with a brace scored today. The scores of other Bundesliga first round matches from today are: FC Koln – Darmstadt 2-0; Augsburg – Wolfsburg 0-2; Eintracht Frankfurt – Schalke 1-0; Hamburger SV – Ingolstadt 1-1 and Borussia Monchengladbach – Bayer Leverkusen 2-1.

Real Madrid wasn’t as convincing as expected in a 2-1 win over Celta at home in Spanish La Liga second round but have notched their second win at the start of the season. Alvaro Moratta and Tony Kroos scored for Los Blancos while Orellana scored for Celta. In other matches today, Eibar defeated Valencia 1-0, Osasuna lost at home 2-0 against Real Sociedad while Leganes and Atletico Madrid play later tonight.

Juventus is proving to be too strong for any Italian Serie A opponent. After beating Fiorentina last week, Juve defeated Lazio 1-0 on the road today as they aim for their sixth straight championship title. Sami Khedira scored the winner in 66th minute. In the other Serie A derby of the night Napoli defeated AC Milan 4-2 after Rossonerri saw two of their players sent off.

Former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has been appointed as the new coach of Chinese Super League side Hebei. 62-year-old Pellegrini, was out of a job since the end of the last season after Pep Guardiola replaced him at Etihad Stadium. At Hebei, Pellegrini will coach players like Ezequiel Lavezzi, Gervinho, Stephane Mbia and Gael Kakuta.

Spaniard Pablo CarrenoBusta is the winner of ATP 250 tournament in Winston-Salem after he beat compatriot Roberto Bautista-Agut 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 in the finals today.

Nico Rosberg eased to pole position for tomorrow’s Formula 1 Belgium Grand Prix at Spa circuit after his teammate Lewis Hamilton was given penalty for engine changes. Hamilton will start from the last place on the grid on Sunday. Max Verstappen of Red Bull came in second while Ferrari duo Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel will launch from third and fourth spot tomorrow.
