Real Madrid shapes summer transfer window

Real Madrid will most likely shape the upcoming summer transfer window, as Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane are looking to form the new “Galacticos”.

Florentino Perez will spend big this summer, as announced in Spanish media. Real Madrid president set sights on Juventus starlet Paul Pogba and he is ready to commit to the most expensive transfer in the history of football!

Paul Pogba signed a pre-contract with Barcelona, which had the preemptive right to sign the French star. However, Pogba became even more expensive than Barca expected, so they notified Juventus they won’t exercise their option this summer, which opened doors to other clubs to start the bidding war. Manchester United declared their interest first, but with Real Madrid entering the scene it is clear that other clubs don’t stand a chance against them. Juventus is currently asking for too much money, but Real Madrid has a couple of tricks in the sleeve to persuade them to lower the price.

For instance, Allegri is an admirer of both Isco and Mateo Kovacic, who didn’t have a major role in Real in the previous season and if Pogba arrives, they will certainly fall down the pecking order even more, so Real can use these two players as a bait. In addition, Pogba expects to leave the club this summer and they shouldn’t risk with asking too much money for him. If the negotiations collapse, he may be disappointed and underperform, so his price will eventually go down. Juventus board knows that and they will most likely sell him this summer. Real Madrid can make the things more complicated, if they exercise Morata’s buy-back clause, which is “only” 30 million euros. Zidane doesn’t count on him, but they can quickly re-sell him for a bigger price and put Juventus in trouble if they decide not to co-operate in the “Pogba case”.

Pogba is the primary target for the summer, but Spanish media are suggesting that Real Madrid will try to bring in David De Gea again. This transfer is bound to happen, but since Keylor Navas was excellent for the two years in a row, he will probably stay the number one goalkeeper choice for Zidane in the forthcoming season.

In attack, there are two names which drew Real Madrid’s attention according to European media – Paulo Dybala and Robert Lewandowski. Juventus is ready to sell Pogba, if they get a rich offer for him, but in Dybala’s case they will hardly negotiate with any team. An alleged inquiry from Real Madrid for young Argentine striker got a cheeky answer – 100 million euros and he is yours! Although Dybala has the potential to become one of the best strikers in the world, a long road is ahead of him and it is silly to imagine that Real would pay such a price for him this summer. On the other hand, Robert Lewandowski is arguably the best centre forward in the game, but Bayern Munich reluctantly rejected any offer coming in for him so far and that will probably be the case this summer, too.

However, the “striker issue” is non-existent in Real, according to most of the experts. Karim Benzema certainly isn’t the star in Ronaldo’s, and even Bale’s region, but he survived every supposed transfer in the past several years and continued to produce goods for the team, so we should expect that he will be leading Real Madrid attack in the next season too.
