Champions League, Groups E, F, G and H – Preview of the last round

On Wednesday we will get all participants of the next stage of the Champions League from and what now follows the preview of the last round of the group stage.

Barcelona is fantastic this season. The Catalans played fantastic and ensured the first place in Group E. In the last round relieved Barcelona will play away game against Bayer Leverkusen. Luis Enrique could take the opportunity to rest some of the stars of his team, which would give a chance to the host. For Germans this game is to be or not to be. The victory guarantees the survival in the Europe, and in the case of a positive result from Rome, Germans could continue to compete in the Champions League. Roma plays badly and ahead of them are drastic changes. But despite all that, Roma will play most important game of the season in the Champions League. The series of poor results continued on Saturday, when the Wolf could not beat Torino. Roma must triumph at home against BATE Borisov, the team that defeated them with 3-2 in Belarus.

Bayern Munich secured first place in Group F, and the best team in Germany this Wednesday travels to face Dinamo Zagreb. Bavarians are an absolute favorite in the match against the team that has no chance to continue competing in Europe this season. Second game in the Group F brings a lot more interest, because in direct meeting Olympiakos and Arsenal will decide who goes among the best 16 teams in Europe. In hell of Piraeus, Olympiakos will try to repeat the success they had made in London, when they beat Arsenal with 3-2. Draw would be also good for the hosts, because they have three points more than the team from England. Gunners must win by two goals in order to avoid the catastrophe, and the elimination at the start of the Champions League.

It will be very interesting on Wednesday, when matches will be played in Group G. Chelsea welcomes Porto, in a game they must not lose to continued competition in the Champions League. The Blues again disappointed their fans on weekend and Jose Mourinho could pay the price for the new failure. London is once again full of stories that trophy coaches will be fired and it is no wonder that Mourinho is under pressure to defeat a team with which he won his first Champions League trophy. Porto has 10 points, the same as Chelsea, but worse head-to-head with Dynamo Kyiv, and must celebrate in London. Ukrainian Representative has secured their spot in the European competition on spring and if they came to the expected victory against Maccabi Tel Aviv, a favorable scenario in London would take them into the knockout phase of the Champions League.

With five wins from five games Zenit Saint Petersburg is perfect in Group H. On Wednesday, the Russian representative will try to continue winning streak on tour in Belgium. Gent has a big motivation, because win against the Russians would take them among the top 16 teams in Europe, which would be a tremendous achievement for this team. Valencia is in a bad situation, but a draw with Barcelona for the weekend could turn their luck. Gary Neville took over a team that will play in Europe in the spring. However, the fate of appearances in the Champions League is not in their hands. Bats have to triumph in the away game against Lyon, but that will not be enough. Gent must not win so that Spanish team could continue playing in the elite.
