Australian Open: Nadal, Federer and Willams sisters revisit 2008 Wimbeledon

Do you feel nostalgia fot the old times? Well, they are back in tennis, because Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Williams sisters are in Australian Open final.

Last time these two pairs were together in Grand Slam finals it was 2008. and it was in Wimbledon. That time Rafa won title, but harder than he hoped. After first two sets that he won 6:4, 6:4, Rodger managed to come back with two tie breaks.

Third and fourth set went into Swiss hands, but Nadal managed to stay calm and after nearly five hours of play managed to win in fifth set 9:7.

In that years Wimbledon final Venus beat Serena in another fairly tough match 7:5, 6:4. What will the outcome be this year in Australian Open?

Only time Federer was struggling in Melburn this year was againsta Kei Nishikori in fourth round. He proved that even now he can win a five sets match, and after three and half hours he won it. Nadal had tough match one round earlier againsta Alexander Zverev. It was also a five set tie, with Nadal coming from behind twice to win it in over four hours.

In the ladies final Serena is clear favourite. She has five more wins than Venus in head to head duels, and she is second on WTA list, while older sister is on 17th place.

Venus lost one set in Australian Open so far, while her younger sister hasn’t had that kind of probem, all of opponents were dealt with easily. Serena wants back in first place, Venus hunts her first Austalian Open title.
